Whilst Italian coffee culture has spread throughout the UK in the last twenty years or so, thanks to the country’s Italian immigrants, Argentines have long enjoyed Italian style coffee, albeit with a few local twists. Though Mate is the national drink of choice, most Argentines are very serious about their coffee.
Cafes are an intrinsic part of every day life in Buenos Aires. Portenos – as the people who live in this portside city are known, feel cafes are an extension of their home, study or work environment. Possibly some of the best poems, songs, paintings, business plans, romances and break ups have had a Buenos Aires Cafe as their mains stage.
During the day, we recreate the laidback and informal style of the Argentine coffee house and welcome you to join us as a Porteno. In addition our Pastry Chef has chosen to combine a number of classic Argentine and British pastries to perfectly balance the smoky flavour of your coffee. These pastries and cakes are freshly prepared and baked in Lomito's kitchen downstairs using only natural ingredients with no use of preservatives.
Whether you fancy a full la carte, lighter lunch menu or simply a coffee and pastry, come and join us at Cafe Lomito and watch the world go by.
